Accepting Applications for the University of Tokyo Global Internship Program for FY2022

~Global Business Experience by DAIKIN~

The University of Tokyo Global Internship Program (UGIP) is designed to give students hands-on business experience in order to develop global human resources capable of world-class work. It aims to contribute to the globalization of the University of Tokyo (“UTokyo”) by having a host company accept students from UTokyo as interns.
The UGIP is an annual project that started in 2019 with Daikin Industries, Ltd. (“Daikin”) serving as the host company. It is one of the core initiatives of the university-corporate relations agreement between the two parties signed on December 17, 2018. Under the UGIP, Daikin accepts internship students at its overseas bases in more than 160 countries.
-Daikin will bear the cost of airfare and accommodation related to the program.
-No remuneration will be paid, but food and transportation expenses during the program will be subsidized.

  • Eligibility

    he program is open to undergraduate (junior and senior division) and master’s degree students, regardless of their field of study.
  • Program

    This year’s program will be conducted under the following two themes:
    (1) Strategic planning for rulemaking in the context of climate change and environmental problems
    ― Game changing strategy toward carbon neutrality in the North American HVAC sector ―
    Activity area: North America (United States)
    (2) Proposing new brand strategies in the Asian region
    ― Branding to attract the next generation of buyers, Generation Z ―
    Activity area: Asia (Thailand)
